Unfortunately the names you have sent for the company registration, have not been accepted by the Registrar Of Companies in Mauritius.
This is the message we have now received twice in our efforts to register the new SIM COMPANY in Mauritius.
The first step in registering the company, is to register the name of the company with the Registrar of Companies. To get a good name is quite tricky, as we wanted to maintain the SIM part, but also wanted something that will distinguish us from other SIM offices worldwide. That took some creativity, but finally we came up with a name that sounded like the perfect one. The next day, however, we got news that the name was not accepted by the Registrar of Companies. So back to square one...
After some more brainstorming we came up with four alternatives, which we sent through to the agent in Mauritius. A few days later the news came that these names were also turned down. Back to square one again... This time we sent a French name which reflects the nature of our ministry and SIM's vision for teaching and mobilization in Mauritius. The name is: Service d'Instruction et Mobilisation.
In the meantime we had news from Mauritius about the name of the company. The above mentioned proposal was accepted! Praise God. Please continue to pray for the rest of the registration process.
WORK PERMIT
As soon as the company is registered we can start preparing for the Work Permit application. Our agent in Mauritius will draw up a contract on behalf of the SIM company. They will also send me a letter to confirm that I am going to work for the company. With this letter we will arrive in Mauritius at the end of August and will get a business visa at the airport. We then have to undergo a whole set of medical tests, hand in our application form and pay the necessary fees for the permit. If everything is in order we should then have a work permit within 3 days. This is an Occupation permit that will be valid for three years.
DATE OF RETURN AND PASSPORTS
Time is running out if we want to be in Mauritius by the end of August. We will have to book our plane tickets soon, before flights become too full, but we are still waiting for the renewal of our Passports. The risk is that we buy tickets for a certain date and the passports are not ready by this date. Please pray that the passports will be ready soon and that God will give us wisdom in deciding on which date we should book.
FINANCES
We praise the Lord for the finances already provided. We need once-off donations of about R31500 for our return to Mauritius. We have already received R13000 of this.
We are also in need of new monthly supporters. As from 1 October 2008 we will need R1800 more per month. We already have promises of about R250, which leaves us with a shortfall of R1550 per month.
We also want to thank the Lord for the provision of a data projector for our ministry. This is helping us a lot with our deputation and will be of great value to us in Mauritius.
